All students attend weekly chapels.
Each year a central theme is developed for our chapels and
linked to our school-wide "verse of the year". In
addition, classes have weekly verses that are memorized and
presented in chapel. Each grade level also takes a turn in
organizing and presenting a chapel service.
Westminster Christian Academy has several
"special" chapel services throughout the school year:
Grandparent's Day Chapel is observed in September to
coincide with national Grandparent's Day. We recognize the role
our grandparents play in the lives of our families and honor them as the
very special people they are. Grandparents are also invited into
our classrooms to enjoy an activity with their grandchild(ren) followed
by fellowship and refreshments.
Veteran's Day Chapel honors our family members who
have served our country in the armed forces, as well as teaches our
students to value the freedoms purchased and safeguarded through the
sacrifice of millions of American citizens.
Samaritan's Purse Chapel focuses our attention on
reaching out to impoverished children all around the world as students
and staff alike prepare and gather shoeboxes filled with simple gifts to
be distributed through the Operation Christmas Child program.
Christmas Chapel turns our hearts to the heart of the
Gospel Jesus Christ. We celebrate His birth through the singing
of carols and through a dramatic presentation staged by our third
through fifth graders.
Servant's Heart Chapel challenges us to delve deeply into the servanthood to which we have been
called as devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
Flowering of the Cross Chapel
celebrates the miracle of Easter and Christ's victory over Satan and
sin by turning a simple wooden cross into a beautiful reflection of what
He accomplished on our behalves through His death and resurrection.
Character Chapel provides an opportunity for teachers
to express to their students the Godly character they have seen
developed and strengthened in their students throughout the year.
This chapel also serves as Westminster Christian Academy's closing
chapel.
